A leading manufacturer and converter of plastic products requires the services of a NATIONAL SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER at their Head Office in Cape Town. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be required to manage and develop the Sales and Marketing function for local, African and overseas markets. Ultimately your role is to ensure long term profitability and sustainability of the business

Key Result Areas:

  • This is an OPCO position and will have 5 Branch Managers reporting into this position.
  • Nationally representation with branches in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town
  • The company manufactures, converts and supplies products to the construction, automotive, mining and general engineering industries.
  • Monitor and analyses the company’s sales performance against budget
  • Devise short and long-term marketing and sales plans to achieve set sales objectives.
  • Determine new business development opportunities.
  • Pursue markets, customers and products that can deliver long term profitable and sustainable business.
  • Provide branches with direction on sales approach if required
  • To ensure equitable employment practices and good Industrial Relations and to provide a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with company procedure, good practice and ensuring all statutory requirements are complied with.

 



Skills Required

Qualifications      

  • Grade 12/ or equivalent qualification
  • Appropriate Diploma/and or Business Degree in Sales and Marketing/IMM                                  

Experience    

  • 10 years working experience in a management position in a manufacturing environment and/or 10 years in a Sales and Marketing management position.
  • Good Business acumen
  • Strong managerial, leadership and communication skills
  • Sound SYSPRO knowledge is an advantage.
