About this job

Our client is seeking a leader who has extensive knowledge of sales processes and practices in the FMCG markets selling into the retail sector. You will be required to achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing and motivating the sales team. Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands the company's customer base, increases sales volumes, contributes to profits and ensures continuous growth. To ensure a strong presence in the market and support the overall business strategy.

Key Result Areas

  • Ensure that Customer requirements are fully analysed, clearly defined and accurately translated into meaningful information such that the Operations function can meet the Customer’s requirements.
  • Develop, implement, manage and report on monthly, quarterly and annual sales plans and targets.
  • Setting sales targets in line with business goals
  • Lead the team in pursuing new sales opportunities, gathering inbound leads and ensure follow up
  • Implement, manage and report on pricing strategies for existing clients and new business
  • Manage and produce quotes on new business queries
  • Liaise with and manage agencies and/or operations that sell and distribute products
  • Continually analyse and report on sales territories and distribution and optimise costs.
  • Research customer needs; implement new ideas and strategies to generate continued sales
  • Analyse, resolve and report all variances in sales targets and efficiencies.
  • Analyse sales data and recommend changes or improvements for better customer satisfaction
  • Analyse relevant data, set and implement central product price and discount structures.
  • Management and leadership of Sales team
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of the sales

 



Skills Required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Related business diploma or degree

Experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience in sales, management, or customer service.
  • Including preparation of goals, forecasts and budgets
  • Supervisory and/or management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of sales processes and practices in the FMCG markets
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyse data and sales statistics and translate results into numbers and solutions
  • Export sales experience and knowledge would also be an advantage and will be required for future sales operations.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
